James was awarded a Bsc(Hons) in Neuroscience and Japanese by the University of Manchester and has over 5 years’ experience supporting learners of all abilities and stages.
Before taking over as Director, of Choice Home Tutoring Manchester West, he has tutored Mathematics, Science and English as a second language (ESL) from primary level all the way through A-level and beyond to Adult education. He has worked in schools across Manchester, specialising in bespoke interventions for all students, including those with additional needs.

We offer specialist support for students with a SEND diagnosis, or for anyone you think might be on the spectrum. We have a fantastic SEND team who will tailor each session to your child’s needs and keep you informed as to their progress. One to one tuition can be particularly beneficial for SEND students, as it allows us to build their confidence and support them with an individual plan. We’re always happy to explain how differentiating resources works and to ensure you also feel confident with supporting your child’s academic success.
We also specialise in offering 11+ tuition for students taking the Trafford or / and private entrance exams. The English and maths papers look ahead to the Year 7 curriculum, so our tutors will ensure your child feels fully confident with those areas. Likewise, we look at the content which will be completely new to them: the Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. A key part to preparation is looking at exam technique, so we will make sure that’s a focus of the sessions and we run mock exams over the summer to ensure they feel completely comfortable on the day.
